Hoping to Make a Mark for Oneself

As a person who grew up in a family of architects and engineers, it is ironic that I do not know a lot about houses and buildings. I can honestly say that I am completely ignorant when it comes to these things. Maybe I know a little about color combinations and a little also about slating and tiling, but nothing more than that. So when friends ask me to help them, I tell them right away that I am not the person they think I am. They usually associate me with my relatives because we have the same last name. But really, I wish I was a little more like them. Unfortunately, I am not. I am better with marketing and strategies. That's why I pursued a career in advertising. I am still young and I know there is so much more that I should learn. But I hope that in time, I will be able to make a mark that is uniquely mine and mine alone. When that time comes, I'm sure mom and dad would be the happiest for me.
