Not that I'm a DIY legend (apart from being a labourer laying down Topseal roofing systems I have little experience), but if I could choose to change about my house is the heating. Right now I just have a wood stove and it is not convenient at all. I moved here at the end of September so I have only experienced cold nights, and sometimes days, when there is no fire. I have a son on the way and I want to be able to control the heat instead of it being too cold or too hot. There have been times when I build a fire in the stove when it is freezing then an hour or two later I am burning up. There is no temperature control at all and this is bothersome - either it's too hot or too cold in my house, and that's where electric heaters have their advantage. |

Moving a house from one place to another is a difficult task as all the things in the house are to be properly packed and then shifted. Since my job demands transfer from one place to another I have experience of moving. I find it difficult to pack all the things alone and so hand it over to packers and movers. These people are professional people having a lot of experience in packing and do the packing very nicely. Hiring a skip lorry to place all your rubbish is a good idea too.
There is very less chance of anything breaking. First of all we have to call them and show them the things in our house. They then give an estimate as to how much it would cost. We don’t have to do anything or bring anything only we have to pay them. But even though I hand over the packing to packers I make it a point to put all my jewellery and other valuables in a hand bag. It is also always advisable to keep all the important documents like passport, bank pass books, certificates, cheque book etc with us because if they get lost then we will face a lot of problems. So we must be careful and pack the important things first. |
