Punk Pop in the Modern Day and Age posted on 31 March 2013 Deja Entendu by Brand New is a pop punk album released in 2003. It is their second album and features eleven songs. The second album has a different sound from their first album, Your Favorite Weapon, which was released in 2001. Deja Entendu has a more subdued and pop punk feel unlike the raw, punk style of their first album. This shows the band's ability to grow musically and in their writing abilities. Since the album is softer it has an easy-listening feel. As a sound engineer for a number of recording studios, I love this kind of sound - what I would describe as a balearic vibe. I often listen to the album around in the car just to inspire my work. I have all brand new albums but this one is my favorite. I often find myself listening to Brand New radio on Pandora and whenever a track from this album comes on, I always turn it up. I was uneasy about Brand New at first, the only songs I had ever heard were from later albums that had a completely different sound to the earlier albums but once I began listening to Deja Entendu they quickly became one of my favorite bands, making Deja Entendu my favorite album.

Finally Melissa is Upgrading Her Computer System posted on 22 November 2012 With Windows 95 the internet browser is still Internet Explorer 5 and with Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows XP there's Internet Explorer 6. You could Melissa has been left behind by the times as she is still using Windows ME. Our friends keep telling her that it is high time for her to upgrade her system and get rid of her bulky CRT monitor and replace it with the flat screen LCD monitor. Melissa does not believe in throwing anything away specially when the unit is still functioning. Her internet service provider informed her that she needs to upgrade her system otherwise she would no longer be supported. The other week it came as a surprise when she told us that she needs our help scouring the market for an affordable desktop pc with the latest version of Internet Explorer. I used to resent this when I was much younger but as I grew up, I guess I eventually learned to accept things that I could not change. It helped that dad was always there to make me understand. He told me that Trisha was special to mom because she almost died when she gave birth to Trisha. Trisha was also very sickly as a child. So naturally, mom would be more protective of her. My Friend Got An Interview Call From Facebook posted on 21 May 2012 My friend has quite a good experience working in BPO's and call centers. He has gained a good knowledge as he worked with various big brands is good at managing a team. One day he got a mail from facebook offering a job. He thought its just a spam and has been send by some spammer. He discussed it to me and I asked him to check it back. He told me that he had already deleted it. I asked him to log in to his account. I just searched it in his Trash folder and found it. It was actually an offer from facebook. They have asked for an interview for joining facebook customer support team. Actually, my friend submitted a job application in facebook through their careers portal. But he never expected to get a reply from there and that also very soon. But he was now already promoted to manager from a team leader. So, it was not possible for him to join facebook as a team member again. Though they were offering a good package, my friend did not accept it.

Preferences Doesn't Matter, It's What You Think Does posted on 7 April 2012 I got to ride the same ride with Neil, a friend from the Social Welfare Club today and he told me that I really lost weight. He also said that I look good. I thanked him and told him that he was the first who actually told me that I look better now than before. He then asked why? I told him it's because most of my friends said I should stop losing weight because I don't look good if I am thin. He said maybe it's because they're not used to seeing me that way. I guess it is true that people does have different preferences so you really can't please everyone. Again, that reminded me of what one of my friends said it is not important what other people think. Graffiti: Criminal Activity or a Work of Art? posted on 18 March 2012 In recent years more and more people have been becoming interested in graffiti and other street arts, and there are websites like Canvas Town even selling graffiti on canvas. I myself have been living in Brighton (UK) for some time now and it seems all over the city there have been pieces of graffiti commissioned and painted onto walls, telephone boxes and shop shutters, all over which are vibrant, thought provoking and very well presented. True works of art! However this brings me to think back to a few years ago living in a run down part of south London, and on nearly every wall you saw was just a scrawled "tag" as they are called, saying "biz" or "shank" or not to mention the other offensive material just carelessly thrown in making the town look a mess. This leaves people with the wrong impressions of this form of art which when done well can look absolutely stunning and transform a place to a whole different world of colour and excitement, not just a messy run down state. So next time you see graffiti...don't let the tags put you off, see the beauty and time put into what can be a very beautiful and skilled art form.

Even with a disability, you can gain fame. posted on 5 January 2012 How many people have held themselves back from achieving their goals in life because they are disabled? There are so many out there I am sure. They say that disability is not inability but not many people believe that. They give up their dreams the moment they realize that they are not like other people who are going to be a success in life. If this is what should happen then people like stephanie beacham could not be famous actresses of all the times. She was born deaf on one ear and despite all that, she has grown to appreciate her acting talent and developing a career out of that talent. She is one of those people who have not given up even if they are not 100% like all the other normal people, and this is the attitude the disabled need to embrace because despite the fact that they are disabled, each of them have their own talents which can be nurtured for them to achieve the level of success they want in life.
