Accidents at Work

Many people have little accidents at work. It can be quite easy to slip on stairs or hurt your back lifting something too heavy or something like that. People tend not to even write these things down in the accident book, do not bother to tell anyone and just put up with it.
However, damaging yourself like this, can lead to more serious problems, maybe in the short time or in the long term. This means that when you do something like this, you do need to report it and to see a doctor. You may find that you are advised to rest for a while or that you will be given some rehabilitation so that it will not get worse later.
You may not even want to think about making an accident at work claim, but if things get worse, such as your injury leading to a more long term problem. Then reporting it and putting it in the accident book, would be a sensible thing to have done. It will then prove some evidence in court which could help you get the compensation you need.
No one wants to think that they will need to make a compensation claim, but if circumstances get bad and your finances suffer because you have to take time off work or you need medical treatment that is not available on the NHS, then you will need to think about perhaps getting help with financing the treatment and this is where you will benefit from seeing whether you can get some compensation for what happened. It could make a big difference to your recovery.
So if you have any sort of injury at work, make sure that you report it properly or you may end up regretting it later, if you want to make a compensation claim but do not have the right evidence.
